Did the buses run?
Since 2 October 2026 this site has noted, every minute, where each bus in Hastings reports itself, and set it against the timetable. Of the 3 journeys timetabled through the town on the one day so far, a bus was seen on 100%. When seen at a stop, buses were on time in 100% of 41 readings.
Early figures: 1 day so far. They settle as the weeks go by.

How this is worked out
Every bus reports where it is, about once a minute, to the Department for Transport's Bus Open Data Service. Each report is matched to its timetabled journey by its route and the time its journey was due to start; at one of the route's stops, the journey due there nearest that time. A journey counts once it is half an hour past its last stop in Hastings.
Not seen isn't the same as didn't run. A bus whose tracker is off, or whose reports don't reach the service, isn't seen, so these figures can only undercount the journeys that ran.
On time is the Traffic Commissioners' window for a bus at a timing point: from a minute early to 5 minutes 59 seconds late. A reading is one minute's report from within 150 m of one of the journey's stops, set against the time it was due there; a bus waiting at a stop gives more than one reading.
