Whether this record is working, and what it can't see. If a source breaks, we'd rather show you that than quietly serve you last month's version of the town.

Where the data comes from

What this record cannot see

Every archive has holes. These are ours, as best we know them:

• Hastings BC — committee papers — Blocked. The council's committee system sits behind a bot-protection rule that refuses automated visitors. We don't work around such measures, so we've asked the council for a supported route. Until then the borough's own decisions — Cabinet, Full Council, Planning Committee, Licensing — are missing from this record.
• Public contracts — Not yet. The national contracts service publishes an open feed, but we can't yet filter it reliably to Hastings, and guessing would put other towns' contracts on this site. Parked until we can do it accurately.
• Grants filed under a wider area — Counted nowhere. We include a grant when the funder recorded it against Hastings. Money that reached the town but was filed under East Sussex, the South East or nationally is invisible to us, so the money map is a floor, not a total.

How we handle being wrong

Corrections are made in place with a visible note and logged publicly on the about page. If something here is wrong, or missing, tell us: laurie@hey.com. We answer within a week.
