Bins and the tip

When your bins are collected, from the borough council's own service, and when the tip is open.

Your bin day

Your postcode goes to Hastings Borough Council's own service, not to us. Your browser asks the council directly, the way the council's own lookup page does; Open Hastings never sees the postcode or the address, and keeps nothing. If you ask it to, this browser remembers your address, so next time it's one press.

A missed bin, a bulky item or garden waste: the borough council's missed collection form ↗, bulky waste ↗ and garden waste ↗ pages. How many collections are missed isn't published; the waste contract's papers are in the environment topic.

The tip

Business waste

Commercial waste cannot be collected through the council’s household waste service and must be managed through suitable commercial waste arrangements. The borough council doesn't collect it: its page says "You can arrange commercial waste collections through any licensed waste contractor that meets your needs." Opening a business has the rules and the council's guide.
