Equality impact assessments

Proposals the councils have assessed for their effect on people with protected characteristics, such as older and younger people, disabled people, and people of different races, religions or sexes. Each assessment is shown with the report it belongs to, what that report recommended and what the minutes record.

6 reports or assessments listed. The assessment is the council's own view of the effects; read it for who it says is affected and how.

How a paper gets on this list

A paper from either council is listed when its title says it is an equality impact assessment: “Equality Impact Assessment”, “equality analysis”, “equality considerations” or “EqIA”. Bare “EIA” is left out, because in planning papers it means an environmental impact assessment. An assessment filed as an appendix is joined to its report by agenda item. A county council paper is listed when it names Hastings or St Leonards, or names no other East Sussex town. Many reports discuss equalities in a paragraph of their own without a separate assessment; those aren't listed.
