Application No. HS/DM/25/00318 Conservation Area No Listed Building No Public Consultation No The Planning Officer presented the application for notification for prior approval for demolition of single storey detached prefabricated timber panel sports pavilion / changing rooms. The building has been flooded previously and is now suffering from timber rot and decay. Hastings Borough Council has been maintaining the structure to prevent water ingress from the roof and to ensure it is not vandalised or occupied. However, it has not been in use for around four years and changing facilities are now provided at the Western Pavilion in Freshfields. The applicant has provided a demolition statement which sets out the method and sequence of demolition. The Environmental Health Officer has reviewed the application, and they have no objections. Councillor Sinden asked if the structure had been tested for asbestos. It was confirmed that an inspection had been carried out and no asbestos was found. Councillors were shown plans and photographs of the application site. Councillor Cannan proposed approval of the application, seconded by Councillor Collins. RESOLVED (unanimously): No further details are required and the demolition can procced subject to the following: 1.
