Kate Darbyshire of the Foreshore Trust updated the Coastal Users Group (CUG) on a new five-year business plan running from 2026 to 2031, which will guide decisions on the use of the Trust's assets and surpluses. p3p16

The business plan is required to support decision making on the use of the Trust’s assets and surpluses and is based upon our current knowledge of maintenance, income, required capital works and proposals for new activities. It will be subject to review and modification as developing proposals and investigations are completed.
• p17Information is already being collated and stakeholders, including CUG will be asked to come up with ideas and proposals they would like to see in the plan. Some ideas discussed at the meeting today included placing history boards at various locations along the seafront, screens around rotundas, showers and various events to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Sidney Little being appointed as Borough Engineer, 100th anniversary of White Rock Theatre, 200th anniversary of St Leonards, setting up a heritage zone in Rock-a-Nore Road, All ideas should be forwarded to Abbie in the first instance. Officers will then look at costing these and carry out feasibility studies where necessary. Once finalised, the plan will be reviewed annually and an update will be provided to the Charity Committee at each of its meetings.
