  • p124. CORPORATE STRATEGY 4.1 The Fire Authority considered the new 2026-31 East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Corporate Strategy and its position within the wider performance management framework. The Corporate Strategy brought together the direction and priorities across a range of departments in a single, high-level document that was clearer and more accessible for internal and external audiences. The Strategy provided a consistent structure for each Service priority, supported by strategic and functional intentions, linking delivery and evidence to the Programme Plan, Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) and Medium Term Finance Plan (MTFP).
  • p267.1 The Fire Authority received the Annual Treasury Management Stewardship Report, a requirement of the Authority’s reporting procedures, informing Members of Treasury Management performance and compliance with Prudential indicators for 2025/26. The Authority had complied with its approved Treasury Management Strategy and Prudential Indicators for the year. The Bank of England (BoE) base rate was cut on three occasions during 2025/26 from 4.50% to 3.75%. No further cuts were anticipated into 2026/27; some BoE scenarios would see rates potentially increasing if inflationary pressures remained heightened for a prolonged period. The average rate of interest received in 2025/26 through Treasury Management activity was 4.30% reflecting the Authority's continuing prioritisation of security and liquidity over yield.
