£50k from The National Lottery Community Fund: Hastings Community Green Exploration
The funding will help the organisation deliver a programme of conservation and educational outreach activities based in Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve with the aim of increasing use of the park facilities improving access to green skills and nature-based art skills activities increasing uptake of green volunteering opportunities and increasing the involvement of young people in horticulture conservation and landscaping. The project will provide new opportunities for residents to develop skills gain experiences and strengthen relationships between generations. Hastings is an area with high levels of deprivation and above average unemployment numbers. The project will enable participants to develop horticultural landscaping and conservation skills. The project will protect promote and enhance this regionally important and diverse nature reserve and share its benefits with the local community.
