Hastings bid to be the UK Town of Culture 2028. The council's page says Hastings was not selected to go forward in the competition, and that Hastings Borough Council and Arts Hastings CIC will run a locally led Hastings Year of Culture 2028 instead.
“(XI) Support Town of Culture (£30k) Funds to support the final bid for Town of Culture. £30k expected to be spent in 2026/27 with a further £470k in 2027/28.”

How this page is made: a document appears here when its title
or text contains one of these words: “Town of Culture”, “Year of Culture”, “culture 2028”, “Arts Hastings”. We match whole words and
ignore case. A matching word doesn't mean the document is mainly about this
topic, so each entry shows the word that matched and links to the council's
own document.
